Frequency reconfigurable antipodal Vivaldi 2-port antenna based on graphene for terahertz communications

Abstract A graphene-based two ports antipodal Vivaldi antenna with improved gain for THz applications is introduced. The single composed of an a graphene radiator on the top and copper ground plane back total size equal to 108 µm × 84 achieve reconfigurable performance from 3 4.5 THz. reconfigurability validated by changing external DC Volt which in turn changes chemical potential then operating frequency. As well, enhance gain, frequency selective surfaces (FSS) metallic patch are utilized gain. FSS investigated optimized using finite integral technique (FIT) software reflective feature band rejection 2 up 5 within bands suggested antenna. inserted below MIMO reflect radiation increased 6 dB (single without FSS) 10.8 (with at 3.4 operated 3.2 4.45 S 11 ≤ − 10 dB, isolation ˃ 20, 8 efficiency higher than 80%. Finally, parameters outcomes achieved good values be employed IoT applications.
